About Professional Learning Education (PLE)

Professional Learning Education is a Clark County School District staff development program which provides teachers and administrators with opportunities to grow professionally and to earn professional learning hours to be used for license renewal and/or salary advancement.

Course content is reviewed by content area experts and members of the PLE Advisory Committee.

Support staff personnel are also invited to attend classes appropriate to their areas of work and/or for professional growth.

How PLE Classes Can Be Used

License Renewal

Nevada educators are required to complete continuing education hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or from an approved continuing education provider to renew their Nevada license. CCSD Professional Learning Education is an approved provider of classes. PLE classes taken after all provisions have been removed, can be used for license renewal. Specific questions regarding license renewal should be directed to the Nevada Department of Education.

Salary Advancement

PLE courses can be used to earn Contact Units (CU’s). One PDE credit provides 5 CU’s.

Out of District Educators

Educators who are not employed by the Clark County School District are welcome to take classes offered by PLE. It is the educator’s responsibility to check with their state/educational institution to verify the classes will be accepted.
